The young Reserves side , under new manager James Perkins, gained their first win of the campaign with a 3-1 victory at Llandudno Junction (Sept 24)  thanks to two goals from Greg Hall and one from Robert Elden.

Colwyn Bay XI: Brookes, K Taylor, Ellis, Elden, Williams; M Jones, O Jones; Desay, Nettleton, M Taylor; Hall

Colwyn Bay started the match in a really positive fashion, pressing Junction back into their own half straight from the kick off. The Bay maintained a decent level of possession in the final third of the pitch for a large period of time, although this was without many meaningful chances being created.

Soon enough, the pressure paid off. Matt Jones fired a long diagonal pass from deep inside his own half, expertly picking out the forward run of Greg Hall. The striker took a great first touch on the edge of the Junction penalty area, before chipping the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper to make it 1-0 to Colwyn Bay. Despite going a goal down, Junction responded very well and started to take more control of the game shortly afterwards. A few wayward efforts from the home side eventually ended with Bay goalkeeper Matt Brookes being forced into making an incredible reaction save, following a goalmouth scramble towards the end of the first half.
Half Time: Llandudno Junction 0 - 1 Colwyn Bay

The second half started in a similar way to the first, with the Bay having plenty of possession in dangerous areas, it didn't take long before the score was doubled. A wide delivery into the area saw James Williams power a header towards goal, only to be denied by the crossbar. As the ball rebounded off the bar, Robert Elden was quickest to react with a well timed header of his own, which beat the stranded goalkeeper to make it 2-0.
As the time began to tick away, Junction made a couple of substitutions which allowed them to change formation, turning the game in their favour. A quick throw-in from the right hand side saw the Bay defence caught napping, and a really well executed finish which bounced in off the post brought the home side back into it with 10 minutes to play.
Junction committed bodies forward in an attempt to find the equaliser, and Brookes was forced into another great save late in the day to maintain the one goal lead. A late counter attack saw Greg Hall go one on one with the goalkeeper, and the powerful striker rounded off a superb individual performance with a low strike into the far corner to wrap up a well deserved victory.
